Picture the scene. Cocktail hour. Guests are drinking, chatting. All but one, who suddenly turns up dead before your very eyes! WHODUNNIT!?! Why, it could be anyone in the room. Look around. Everyone is a potential murderer… as well as a potential victim!

Next, we gather in the central dining area for a full course dinner, as YOU discuss the clues with guests and a ‘real live’ detective.

WHAT IS A MURDER MYSTERY EVENT???

A Murder Mystery Event is very much like being in a Charlie Chan movie, or living through an Agatha Christie novel, or an episode of Murder She Wrote. In fact, it’s a “living theatre” experience which enables people to interact with professional actors in solving actual murders that occur before their very eyes.

By using original scripts that can be customized for your group or event we can provide you and your group with one of the most unforgettable experiences of a lifetime.

This increasingly popular form of entertainment offers a unique combination of murder, mystery, super-sleuthing, cunning and comedy, mixed with intrigue and involvement, packaged in a “who dunnit” format that has captured the interest of millions for years on T.V., the silver screen, radio and of course the mystery novel.

Our events are designed to involve total group participation through clue discovery, interrogation and cross examination by a Homicide Detective and the added impact of realistic looking murders occurring all about them. Hardly anyone can resist the lure of figuring out who the criminals are when victims start dropping like flies, felled by errant bullets or indiscreet back stabbings.

Since our actors assimilate with the group and no one knows for sure who they are, everyone is brought into the vicarious experience of being both suspect and sleuth, with a common challenge---solving the crime!!!

ABOUT OUR STAFF

PRODUCERS

Ron and Joni Pacie, founders of Murder Mystery Inc., both have an extensive background in television. They’ve appeared on the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon for well over a decade, as well as appearances on the Joe Franklin Show. Joni played the female lead in the Off Broadway production of Ghost in the House, as well as the feature film Slices of American Pie, and is also a free lance writer. Rons background includes his unique acumen as a promoter of special events including celebrity auctions and fund raisers.

As producers they maintain a “hands on” attitude regarding Murder Mystery Inc. and are personally involved in every aspect of every project they handle including script super-vising, production management, budgeting, casting and event planning.

WRITERS

Murder Mystery Inc. has a staff of creative writers which includes Tom Paliferro, who has written for Second City and has extensive credits in writing, acting and directing. Also John Esposito, an accomplished screen play writer who has collaborated professionally with Stephen King on such projects a Pet Sematary as well as writing for two top Laurel Productions T.V. Series, Tales of the Dark Side and Monsters.

STAGE MANAGER/DIRECTOR

Only top professionals with both an acting and directing background and a familiarity with the Murder Mystery Inc. technique are utilized for this exacting position. They remain in constant contact with the event planners and are involved in scheduling and co-ordinating itineraries, actors and casting, rehearsals, and generally oversee the running of the entire event.

DETECTIVES

Our Homicide Detectives play a very important role in each Murder Mystery Event and therefore must be top professional actors with extensive backgrounds in improvisation and a flair for comedy in addition to their other talents. Murder Mystery Inc. employs a staff of actors trained for just this purpose. Our detectives host, interrogate, cross examine and literally lead guests through this unique adventure of murder mystery and mayhem all the way to its final conclusion.

ACTORS

Murder Mystery Inc. is proud to say that we use professional actors in all our Murder Mystery Productions. Actors who have a flair for quick wit, improvisation and whose recognizable credits include work on stage, screen and television.

AMBULANCE SERVICE

In keeping with our aim for authenticity, Murder Mystery Inc. will enlist the services of local ambulance departments when available. The wail of sirens and the impact of paramedics administering CPR on dying victims create an aura of reality that participants just cannot resist.

ETC.

We pull out all the stops for each and every event. That means we make sure our clues are realistic and pertain to the plot. We scout out red herrings that are linked to unassuming guests and whenever necessary and possible we recruit the help of hotel, resort, and restaurant personnel, either to plant clues, become a tragic victim or do a bit part. We aim to make every production as realistic as possible without being gory and it’s all done in spirit of good clean fun.

YOU PROVIDE

You provide us with the details of your event; time, place, location, duration, etc., and we take it from there. Based on the information that you give us we will create an original script that will include a story line and plot that can involve the nature of business the event is planned around, and also involve any or all of the individuals that are participating. 

For example, if you can provide us with some information about “a certain company vice president” (i.e. business card or company letterhead), we can work clues into the plot that might implicate him in one of our “staged murders.” You would be amazed at the surprised reaction you get when the only piece of identification that is found by the police on one of our “murder victims” is somebody else’s business card.

All of this is done in good clean fun, and our experience in the past has shown us that people love to be implicated or involved in the action.

- Original Script, written by a professional murder mystery writer, based on your needs and specifications

- Homicide Detective (Professional Actor).

- 6 additional actors who are involved in the plot. (Total will depend on the size of the group.)

- Casting, rehearsal and preproduction.

- Coordination of local Police and Ambulance Departments if applicable.

- Props, wardrobe, Prizes and clues.

- Stage Manager/Director.
